An altercation between Police officers and a civilian in Georgetown has been making its rounds on social media.
A video clip was posted by the Searchlight newspaper on its Facebook page on the evening of Sunday 23rd October, which showed a three-way altercation involving a heavy-set man in t-shirt and army fatigues, a man in a vest and short jeans and a third man in t-shirt and jeans.
During the fracas, the heavy-set man attempts to separate the two others. The man in the vest picks up a boulder in a probable attempt to inflict injury.
The heavy-set man then brandishes a handgun, pushes the man in the vest away and is seen firing one round into the air.
A barrage of expletives is exchanged between the three individuals.
The man in the t-shirt walks away from the altercation while the heavy-set man continues to attempt to restrain the man in the vest.
The video clip then shows the two men engaged in a heated exchange of words with villagers.
News 784 has contacted the Police Public Relations Department and it has confirmed knowledge of an altercation between Police officers and a civilian.
There were no reports of injuries and an investigation into Sunday’s incident is already in progress.
The names of the individuals involved in the tussle were not released.
