The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Services has issued its 72-hour weather outlook as of noon on June 2, 2026, advising residents of incoming Saharan dust, increased cloudiness, and shifting sea conditions.
According to Meteorological Forecaster Joan Mc Donald, the islands are currently experiencing slight to moderate haze caused by concentrations of Saharan dust in the area.
Residents should prepare for a shift in weather by late Wednesday, June 3, as low-level moisture increases, bringing scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms to the region.
Winds, currently blowing at a moderate to fresh pace of 25 to 30 km/h, are expected to temporarily increase to approximately 35 km/h overnight on Wednesday and into Thursday morning. Wind directions may vary between the northeast and southeast depending on the location.
Marine conditions will also be significantly affected. While seas are expected to remain slight to moderate overall—ranging from 1.0 to 1.2 meters (3 to 4 feet) on the western coasts and 1.8 to 2.0 meters (6 to 6.5 feet) on the eastern coasts—authorities have issued a specific marine advisory for Thursday, June 4. Small-craft operators and sea-bathers are strongly urged to exercise caution on Thursday due to above-normal swells, occasional gusty winds, and poor visibility resulting from the moderate dust-haze.
Fortunately, no general weather advisories or warnings have been issued for the 72-hour period beyond the Thursday marine caution.
