Men flee from CANU leaving $7M in ganja, shotgun behind

Two guys avoided capture Friday, but the Customs Anti Narcotic Unit (CANU) seized a huge quantity of marijuana, a shotgun, and matching cartridges.

During the operation, CANU saw two individuals running from a speedboat to a nearby cane field.

A further search revealed five packets of suspected cannabis, a single-barrel 12-gauge shotgun, and 12 live cartridges.

The ranks searched the area for the suspects but were unsuccessful.

The suspected narcotics and shotgun were transferred to CANU’s Skeldon Office, where they tested positive for cannabis weighing 57.2 kg and worth $7 million.
