Senior Counsel Rex Mc Kay, a veteran and well-known Guyanese attorney-at-law, died early Thursday morning, according to reliable sources.
He was 95.
Mr Mc Kay died at 2:30 a.m. on Carmichael Street at the Woodlands Hospital after a protracted illness.
In October 2023, he was named one of eight Guyanese “Legendary Caribbean Legal Practitioners” by the Caribbean Court of Justice Academy of Law.
On October 16, 1975, he was appointed Senior Counsel.
Mr Mc Kay was awarded the Order of Roraima in 2016 for his lengthy, committed, and remarkable service as a legal practitioner.
