HIGH-SURF ADVISORY and SMALL-CRAFT WARNING will be in effect for St. Vincent and the Grenadines from 6:00 pm on Saturday 17th until 6:00 pm on Wednesday 21st December 2016; to be updated if necessary.

A small-craft Warning means that wind speeds of 25 to 30 knots (28 to 35mph) and/or seas greater than 3m (10ft) are forecast to affect the marine area.

A High-Surf Advisory is issued when breaking wave action poses a threat to life and property within the surf zone.

Large waves and dangerous rip currents can be expected mainly along the north, north-east and east coasts of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Conditions will become unsafe for small-craft operators, sea-bathers and other users of the sea, therefore all are advised to stay out of the water.

This Advisory/Warning will be in effect until 6:00 pm Wednesday 21st December 2016.

The Barbados Meteorological Services and the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Services will continue to monitor the situation.
