A regional romance connecting four Caribbean nations has captured the attention of interCaribbean Airways, after the carrier shared the journey of a couple whose cross-border relationship was enabled by its flights.

The airline revealed that the connection first came to light in July, when a heartfelt thank-you letter arrived in its marketing inbox and circulated across the office all the way to the CEO before lunch.

The relationship began online in May 2025 between Nickeisha, from Kingston, Jamaica, and Sigmund, who is Guyanese-born and residing in St. Vincent. Three months later, Nickeisha boarded an interCaribbean flight to Barbados to meet Sigmund in person for the first time.

Following a nine-day stay on the island, the two departed as an official couple.

Their travels together continued later that year; in October, the pair redeemed Cacique Rewards points to fly from St. Vincent to Grenada for their first vacation as a couple. In April of this year, Sigmund made the journey from Barbados to Jamaica, proposing to Nickeisha six days prior to her birthday.

Nickeisha and Sigmund officially tied the knot in Kingston on October 25.

To celebrate the milestone, interCaribbean Airways gifted the newlyweds flights to Santo Domingo for their honeymoon, describing the gesture as a present for a couple whose personal narrative mirrors the airline’s purpose.

In its message, the airline reflected on what regional integration means beyond daily logistics, stating that while connecting the Caribbean usually involves schedules, routes, and aircraft, on special occasions it means seeing Jamaica, St. Vincent, Guyana, and Barbados united into a single family.

The carrier closed its announcement with congratulations to the couple, adding, “We’ll see you on the next one”.
