St. Vincent and the Grenadines will join the rest of the world today in observing International Day to end violence against Women.
There have been a lot of reported cases by women who have been abused across the island according to Faustina Lewis, Project Field Officer at the Gender Affairs Division
She said that men are the main perpetrators and they have decided to try to get to the men by working with them which will help to stop the violence against women.
According to Ms. Lewis, the reports of abuse have been overwhelming. She also highlighted the types of abuses some of these women encounter which include physical, verbal and sexual abuse.
International Day to end violence against women is being observed under the theme “Working with Men and Boys.”
