Kingstown, (Monday, September 14th 2026) – Invest SVG will host a New York City edition of its Diaspora Outreach and Investment Programme, “Home Is Where The Heart Is,” with the session set to take place at the New York Marriott, Brooklyn Bridge, 333 Adams Street, Brooklyn, NY on Saturday, September 19th from 3:00pm – 9:00pm.
This engagement completes the Agency’s original 2026 tour, which kicked off earlier this year with a conference in London, United Kingdom. The New York City leg of the programme will take place in Brooklyn, home to one of the largest concentrations of Vincentian nationals in the diaspora. The event has been organized in close collaboration with the Consulate General of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in New York, whose support has been instrumental in bringing the programme to the city once again.
“Brooklyn has always held a special place in the heart of our diaspora community,” said Invest SVG Chairman Kevin Hope. “We are excited to connect with Vincentians across New York City and the surrounding areas, share the opportunities emerging at home, and strengthen our partnership with the diaspora. New York City, it’s your turn.”
As with the earlier stops on the tour, the NYC session will give members of the Vincentian diaspora the opportunity to engage directly with senior government officials, financial institutions and private sector representatives on investment opportunities across sectors including tourism, agriculture, creative industries, real estate, ICT and manufacturing.
The programme also marks one of the first major diaspora engagements for newly installed Consul General Roland Matthews, who took up his post in New York earlier this year and has been closely involved in mobilizing support for the September 19th session.
“We’ve seen tremendous interest from our previous conferences, and we expect New York City to build on that same momentum. Our team is looking forward to converting these conversations into real investments for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines,” said Shanna Browne-Jacobs, Investment Facilitation Services Manager at Invest SVG.
Beyond the diaspora facing sessions, the New York City visit will also see the Agency hold numerous other meetings with potential foreign investors, as it continues to search for opportunities within export and trade, tourism, financial services, agriculture and more. This dual-tracked approach has proven particularly successful across the last three stops on the tour, with Invest SVG paving the way for a number of local Vincentian products to be stocked on shelves in the countries they have visited thus far.
“We are happy to announce that our engagement is completely booked out. All stakeholders are excited to engage with the folks in New York City. After learning, listening and improving, we are proud to announce that we will be bringing an even stronger and revamped programme for our Vincentians in Brooklyn. We’re also grateful to the Consulate General here in New York for the tremendous support they’ve provided in pulling this together,” assured Communications Officer Alejandro Tesorero.
The ongoing “Home Is Where the Heart Is” programme has been made possible through the support of the Bank of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the National Properties LTD, and the St. Vincent Building & Loan Association.
