Final Leg of “Home Is Where The Heart Is” Programme Underway
The Invest SVG team and the rest of the Diaspora Outreach delegation are on their way to Toronto to commence the second and final leg of their “Home Is Where The Heart Is” initiative. Trailing on a wave of excitement from their last mission in the United Kingdom, patrons in Canada and the United States have high hopes for their editions of the tour, where they will have the opportunity of learning about all things investment in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Joining them on this second trip are a few new participants such as the St. Vincent Building & Loan Association, the Caribbean Digital Transformation Programme, and the Hon. Orando Brewster, Minister of Housing, Informal Human Settlement, Youth and Sports.
This second leg consists of three individual sessions spread across major cities abroad that are home to a large number of Vincentians. Namely, Toronto, Washington D.C and New York City.
The programme aims to foster long-term economic linkages between Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and its diaspora by showcasing the tangible opportunities for investment in key sectors. From real estate development and small business financing to digital innovation and trade facilitation, these sessions are expected to inspire a new wave of diaspora-led ventures and partnerships.
Among the anticipated outcomes are increased diaspora investments, improved awareness of government incentives and support services, and a stronger sense of national connection among Vincentians living abroad. The initiative also presents a valuable opportunity to gather insights and feedback from the diaspora community, helping to shape future strategies for inclusive economic development. “This initiative is about more than promoting investment—it’s about reconnecting with our people and reminding them that their roots still hold value and opportunity,” said the Honourable Minister Orando Brewster. “We’re inviting the diaspora not just to invest in SVG, but to help shape its future.”
The Toronto session is already at full capacity, signalling the high level of interest and enthusiasm among the diaspora community. Time is running out to secure your spot for the remaining stops in Washington D.C. (May 14) and New York City (May 17), and interested participants are encouraged to register as soon as possible to avoid missing out on this engaging and informative event. All sessions will be livestreamed on their Facebook.
