The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Giovanni Charles, 26yrs, Police Officer of New Montrose, which occurred at Belmont about 4:20 p.m., on 02.05.16.
Reports are that the deceased received stab wounds about his body whilst on duty at a fair at the Belmont Government School. He subsequently died.
An 18yrs male is assisting the police with their investigations.
A total of eleven (11) homicides have been committed for the year.
A postmortem examination is expected to be performed on the body.
