FyaVerse Wins Best Zikomo Dancehall of the Year 2025

Jamaican artist FyaVerse has won Best Zikomo Dancehall of the Year 2025 at the prestigious Zikomo Awards, one of Africa’s most prominent platforms celebrating excellence in music, film, and culture.

Although FyaVerse was not present at the ceremony, the award was accepted on his behalf by his representatives in Lusaka.

The win marks a defining moment for the rising dancehall star and highlights the global reach of Caribbean music across the African continent.

Born Fabian Wayne Edwards in Manchester, Jamaica, FyaVerse has become known for his vibrant blend of dancehall, reggae, and Afro-Caribbean rhythms that resonate with audiences far beyond his island roots. His music, often centred on empowerment and unity, has positioned him among a new generation of artists reshaping the sound of modern dancehall.

In a statement shared after the announcement, FyaVerse expressed gratitude to his fans and supporters worldwide.

“Even though I couldn’t attend, this award means the world to me,” he said. “It’s a symbol of connection — from Jamaica to Africa, the fire keeps burning.”

The Zikomo Awards, held annually in Zambia, recognise influential figures whose work promotes creativity, cultural exchange, and social impact across borders.

Music observers say FyaVerse’s win reflects the growing cultural bridge between African and Caribbean music scenes, with artists from both regions finding common ground in rhythm, storytelling, and spirit.

As FyaVerse continues to rise, his latest honour solidifies his place as one of the most promising voices in global dancehall — an artist whose message and music transcend geography.
