The local soca scene has a new leader as Jasper “Jasper YMC” Alexander was officially crowned the reigning Soca Monarch.
In a historic turn of events, Alexander successfully dethroned the long-standing champion “Fireman,” who had dominated the competition and held the crown for the last decade.
Alexander secured his victory with the hit song “Rum Island,” which propelled him to the top of the podium.
The night also celebrated excellence in the Ragga Soca competition, where Tyrique “D’Fusion” Thomas captured the first-place spot. Thomas won over the judges with his popular track, “Here to Stay”.
The competition for the Soca Monarch title also saw high-energy performances throughout the night.
Taking the third-place position in the soca category were Claydon “Dymez” Roache and Elrico “Da Pixel” Hunte for their collaboration on the song “Do the Most”.
