Proceeding at Serious Offences Court which was presided over by Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne was disrupted on Thursday October 18th, 2018 by Mwatta Henry of Redemption Sharpes who is facing several charges including murder and attempted murder when he appeared in Court.
When Henry appeared in Count one week ago he told the Magistrate that he does not wish to have any Preliminary Inquiry in matters but to have them sent straight to the High Court.
He was informed by the Chief Magistrate that his relatives had retained lawyer Israel Bruce and that he had requested an adjournment as he was out of State.
Henry re-appeared in Court today Thursday October 18th he took to the Prison’s dock he stated that Lawyer Bruce was only representing him in the murder case and that he wanted the other matters to be sent on to the High Court immediately and that the Senior Prosecutor Adolphus Delpesche had requested a one-week adjournment to have everything put in place.
In response the Senior Prosecutor said that the DPP Chambers had started the process and that it cannot happen automatically, it was during such time that Henry walked from the Prison’s dock and accused the Prosecutor of playing games with his matter, pulled the chair that he was seated on and slammed it on the ground almost injuring Lawyer Connell who was seated at the bar table.
Law Enforcement Officers who were present in Court immediately approached Henry and handcuffed him and whisked him away from the Court.
Henry is expected to return to Court sometime in November to know his fate.
