Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Rural Transformation and Parliamentary Representative, The Hon. Saboto Caesar, delivered the feature address at the opening of the newly built kitchen and dining facility at the Diamonds Government School on Thursday 25th May 2017.
The facility financed under the Seventh BNTF (Basic Needs Trust Fund) programme was constructed at a cost of EC$448, 250.00. Programmes under the BNTF programme are sponsored by the Caribbean Development Bank.
Speaking at the opening of the facility, area representative Hon Saboto Caesar said, the greatest injustice to any group of communities in the living memory of the State of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines will not go unpaid.
Caesar was referring to the shift system for a student’s entire primary school life at the Diamond Government School with aggravating circumstances they missed two years of school due to the system at the time.
He said: “I will never forget my schoolmates, we struggled together, and we will never stop until we get Justice”.
Other addresses came from Minister of Education, Reconciliation and Ecclesiastical Affairs, The Hon. St. Clair Prince and a Representative of the Caribbean Development Bank.
The facility was officially opened on Thursday, May 25th at 2:00 pm at the Diamonds Government Schools.
