The Ministry of Education is collaborating with the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force and other agencies to undertake a number of activities in observance of May as Child Month.
On Friday, May 3, the month will be officially launched with a prayer breakfast at the Frenches House, beginning at 9 in the morning.
As part of the Child Month Campaign, several activities will take place including a March & Rally through the streets of Kingstown and a Book Parade in which children would enact some of their favourite stories at the Arnos Vale Sporting Complex.
Child Month is an opportunity for Vincentians to reflect on and renew their commitment to the nation’s children.
This year’s slogan “Early Literacy; Model it for me!” serves as an urgent reminder that all of us, as individuals and as a society, can do more to improve the quality of education, through early literacy.
