President Maduro Praises Venezuelan Military: “Emancipators and Liberators”
The President of Venezuela and Commander-in-Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Nicolás Maduro, led the salutation message to the Bolivarian National Armed Forces and the Military Labor Day reaffirming the liberating and emancipating character of the nation’s armed forces.
“Our military has a glorious history, as an emancipating military, liberators of this land,” said president Maduro, who took the opportunity to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the creation of the military academy of the Army of Venezuela, which was created even before the emancipatory struggles of the continent began.
“Our military is not imperialist, they do not go out to bomb and kill people and steal wealth, they are liberators of this land and all of America,” he reaffirmed regarding a FANB that remains up to the level of comprehensive defense that Venezuela needs.
President Maduro assured that the perfect popular and military union demonstrated also this 2026 allows us to call this year the year of an admirable challenge that was overcome, in clear historical reference to the Admirable Campaign, a glorious military action of the independence struggles of Venezuela.
In that regard, he assured that the FANB proves to be a united liberating army of this 21st century, loyal to its history but full of a bright future.
Maduro celebrated that thanks to that perfect popular and military fusion, the people of Venezuela live in peace and tranquility, despite the threats that have fallen on the country in recent months.
The Commander of the FANB recalled that Venezuela has been attacked by Goliath for 27 weeks, and in those 27 weeks it has not wasted time, but has been “deployed with intelligence, wisdom and strategic patience” to face any aggression.
Venezuela Responds With Food Production to the US Imperialist Siege
Venezuelan Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez stated that her country has responded with internal food production and distribution to what she described as the siege and threats from the United States, which has maintained a military deployment in the southern Caribbean Sea since August.
During an assessment of the Plan Amor y Prosperidad Alimentaria (Love and Prosperity Food Plan) in Caracas Rodríguez said that, while the United States “planned to besiege, to threaten,” Venezuela responded with a logistical deployment that “has never been seen” in which “all productive sectors were activated to bring food” to the population.
“They pride themselves on saying that they have a deployment of the Navy in the Caribbean, like never before. The Venezuelan people responded with what has truly never been seen: a logistical deployment of this nature,” she declared.
The Minister of Hydrocarbons also indicated that, within the framework of this food program, 158,000 metric tons of food have been distributed in five weeks to, she assured, “serve almost five million people.”
Venezuelan Migrants Demand Justice and Due Process After Illegal Confinement in El Salvador
Venezuelan migrants released a joint communiqué denouncing the systematic torture, sexual abuse, and forced disappearances during their four-month illegal detention in El Salvador’s Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT, in Spanish).
The 252 individuals, who were deported from the United States before being held in the Salvadoran prison, are now demanding the Trump administration comply with a federal court order granting them the right to due process on U.S. soil.
“We demand that authorities create conditions allowing us to participate in hearings without again risking our lives and integrity”, read a statement issued by the group.
The migrants described enduring constant beatings, psychological torment, medical neglect, and degrading treatment that left lasting physical and psychological scars.
Their formal complaint was delivered in Caracas during a legal strategy session, where they appealed for justice and international oversight.
President Maduro Urges US Media Not to Yield to Extremist Lobbies
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro urged US media outlets on Friday not to be influenced by various lobbies seeking to impose a colonial model of domination and steal the country’s natural resources. He denounced that sectors of the White House “invented” extremist opposition figures to further this objective. At the same time, he highlighted his nation’s active and victorious resistance against the multifaceted aggression waged by the Trump Administration.
During the Council of Sectoral Vice Presidents held on December 26, the Venezuelan president stressed the importance of US media maintaining their independence. He emphasized not yielding to “so many lobbies,” among which he mentioned “bondholders, oil companies, Miami” and “corrupt Venezuelans who fled to Miami,” asserting that these groups “pay for articles.”
The President affirmed that Venezuela “wants peace, that it will always win its right to peace and to the future, and that it is right,” a position that has been demonstrated in the United Nations Security Council, alluding to “historical, legal, and juridical reason.”
“It is impossible for sectors of power in the United States to fabricate a virtual reality and impose a colonial and slave-owning model of domination on Bolívar’s Venezuela in order to steal its natural resources,” the head of state emphasized. He also maintained that the Venezuelan people, “settled throughout the territory, in communities, in universities, in factories, in barracks,” have “demonstrated sufficient capacity to lead the nation down the right path, at a good pace, and in a timely manner.”
President Nicolás Maduro Moros emphasized that “Venezuela continues its active and victorious resistance struggle, maintaining the initiative and a permanent offensive on all fronts.” He also noted that the current situation keeps the Venezuelan people steadfast, victorious, and redoubling their efforts for the nation’s peace.
Venezuela Frees 99 People Arrested After 2024 Post-Election Violence
On Thursday, Venezuela’s Ministry for Penitentiary Services confirmed the release of 99 people who had been detained for their involvement in acts of violence and incitement to hatred recorded after the presidential elections of July 28, 2024.
So far, Venezuelan authorities have released more than 2,100 citizens charged in connection with those crimes. Most of the releases took place between November 2024 and March 2025. Those freed took part in actions aimed at rejecting the mandate expressed by the Venezuelan people at the ballot box and at generating destabilizing scenarios that affected national peace.
In response to the events of 2024, the Executive and Judicial branches decided to review each case individually and to grant precautionary measures in accordance with the current legal framework.
The Penitentiary Service said these releases represent a tangible expression of the Venezuelan state’s commitment to peaceful coexistence and the exercise of balanced justice. The releases are also part of President Nicolas Maduro’s policies, which are aimed at guaranteeing full respect for human rights, including for individuals who engaged in actions against sovereignty, institutional order, and social harmony.
