Magistrate Recuses Himself In DeFreitas Court Matter

Magistrate Bertie Pompey has recused himself in the matter involving Proprietor of Nice Radio Douglas Defreitas.

All cases have been postponed to 13th September at Calliaquia. Magistrate Pompey has recused himself from the cases.

Douglas De Freitas political activist was slapped with 10 additional charges and appeared in courts earlier this morning.

The 10 charges were added to De Freitas list of charges stemming back to statements he made regarding elections 2015.

DeFreitas speaking on his radio program earlier this morning express thanks to those who send messages and call with words of encouragement.

According to summons received, De Freitas made statements contrary to Section 64 (1) of the Criminal Code, Chapter 171 of the Revised Edition of the Laws of St Vincent and the Grenadines, 2009.
