Police here in St Vincent have recovered a number of weapons and ammunition from a morning raid on Wednesday 18th, 2017.
Acting on information a find was made at a house in the Lowman’s Hill community.
Commissioner of Police Reynold Hadaway said it is alarming to know that such weapons are on the streets of the nation.
Among the weapons discovered were, one Sub-Machine Gun, one Glock, one 38 Revolver, one round of AK ammunition, 14 rounds of Glock 40 ammunition, 45 rounds of 9mm ammunition and two ski mask.
The commissioner said the ski mask are of concern to the force stating that all law enforcement officers know the implications of such and once they are discovered action will be taken to remove them.
A male and female are in custody in connection with the weapons find; investigations are ongoing.
The commissioner noted that in 2016 28 gun related deaths, there was a total of 40 homicides in 2016.
