Man arrested for unauthorized use of Car, theft in Glen

LABOURER CHARGED WITH TAKING A CONVEYANCE AND THEFT

On September 5, 2026, police arrested and charged Raheem Johnson, a 23-year-old labourer of Glen, with the offences of taking a conveyance and theft.

According to investigations, the accused allegedly took motor vehicle PN-270 without the consent of the owner or other lawful authority.

He was also charged with stealing one combination lock, valued at $125.00 ECC, the property of a 30-year-old medical student of the USA and presently residing in Prospect.

The offences were committed in Prospect between August 14 and August 17, 2026. Johnson appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate Court on September 7, 2026, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge. He was granted composite bail in the sum of $2,800.00 ECC with one surety.

He was ordered to report to the Calliaqua Police Station every Thursday between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., and was also ordered to seek the courts permission if he wishes to leave the state. The matter was adjourned and transferred to the Calliaqua Magistrate Court for September 14, 2026.
