UPDATE: Masked Gunman Targets Couple in Arnos Vale

The Major Crime Unit (MCU) of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) has launched an investigation into reports of Wounding with Intent and Attempted Robbery.

The offences were allegedly committed on Sunday 21st January 2024 in Arnos Vale, at the southern end of the tarmac at the decommissioned airport.

According to the investigation, about 4:30 a.m., a forty (40) year-old Unemployed male of Fair Hall and a twenty (20) year-old female Cashier of Villa/Fountain Road were on the tarmac when a masked man with a gun accosted them and demanded money.

The female ran away from the scene of the incident and the male was able to escape in his car which was parked nearby. While the male victim was driving away, the assailant fired gunshots in his direction. One of the bullets struck him on the right side of his face.

The police were alerted and officers from the Narcotics Unit based in Arnos Vale responded, secured the area, and transported the victim to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH) for medical treatment.
