Prime Minister Gonsalves said he has recently requested of Rene Baptiste chairman of the National Heroes Day Committee, to submit their final report so that the requested legal process could be finalized in respect to the appointment of other national heroes before March 14th, 2018.
These an other announcements were made by the Prime Minister in his independence speech on Friday 27th October 2017.
Gonsalves said that cabinet has also made the decision to appoint as cultural ambassadors two distinguished national Lennox “Dinks” Johnson singer and Kimon Baptiste Saint Rose fashion designer.
He further stated that Dellarice Duncan former caption of the SVG netball team, Terrance Davis and Michael Findlay former West Indies test cricketer, will all be appointed Sports Ambassadors.
Gonsalves noted that the government intends shortly to commision a small team of historians to write a single text history of SVG to be used in school, the government he said will cause such to be published.
