Minister calls on Vincentians to embrace Vincy Mas

Minister of Culture Cecil McKie said he anticipates that 2019 will be a great year for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Mr. McKie made the comment while delivering remarks at the official media Launch of Vincy Mas 2019, during which the six young ladies vying for a chance to win a University Scholarship, in this year’s Miss SVG Pageant, were sashed by their sponsors.

Mr. McKie said it is the Ministry’s hope, that more training seminars and workshops be conducted, for persons who are involved in writing and composing songs.

The contestants vying for this year’s title of Miss SVG are Miss Flow, Sonia Delecia, 26, of Campden Park; Miss Vincentian Chocolate, Megan Greaves, 21, of Fountain; Miss Metrocint General Insurance Co. Ltd. Silvern Lavia, 22, of Fancy; Miss Lotto Kircia Modeste, 20, of Georgetown; Miss Mustique Co. Ltd. Sharikah Rodney, 19, of Greiggs; and Miss Massy Stores (SVG) Ltd.; Felica Thomas, 23, of Mesopotamia.
