Bermuda – The Mirrors Programme and the Bermuda Community Outreach Foundation (BCOF) have announced the return of their Third Annual Back-to-School Giveaway, an initiative aimed at providing essential supplies to hundreds of local students. The event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at the Death Valley Playground in Southampton.
Now in its third year, the giveaway has seen substantial growth since its launch in 2024. While the initiative has distributed 384 backpacks to date, this year’s event is expected to bring that total to more than 600 backpacks, representing a major investment in Bermuda’s youth and their families.
This year marks a turning point for the initiative, as The Mirrors Programme takes the lead in coordination. Working alongside BCOF, Mirrors aims to create a family-friendly atmosphere that goes beyond simple supply distribution. Attendees can look forward to a variety of community activities, refreshments, and entertainment to celebrate the upcoming school year.
“Preparing students for success extends far beyond providing school supplies,” said Kimberley Jackson, The Mirrors Programme Manager. “It is about investing in confidence, creating opportunity, and demonstrating to young people that their community believes in them”.
The partnership highlights the synergy between the two organizations. The Mirrors Programme is a Bermuda Government initiative focused on personal development and mentoring, while BCOF is a youth-led charitable organization founded by Malay Robinson, Christopher Jackson, and Andreaz Glasgow. Together, they aim to empower the next generation of leaders through grassroots action.
Parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to reserve a backpack in advance to ensure their child receives supplies. Registration can be completed online via a dedicated Jotform link. Backpacks will be available while supplies last, making early registration a priority for families.
