In the last few weeks, the SVG Ministry of Health, Wellness, and the Environment (MOHWE) and the World Bank, through the Access Accelerated Trust Fund, have been working to strengthen our response to Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), with a particular emphasis on Diabetes (DM) and Hypertension (HTN) in Primary Health Care.
On 1 March 2023, officials from the World Bank and our healthcare professionals at the primary and secondary levels met to discuss the next steps for enhancing the diagnosis, management, and treatment procedures for diabetes and hypertension.
In several health institutions around St. Vincent and the Grenadines, “DM and HTN Flowsheets” were introduced and field-tested as a result of a decision to implement supporting tools.
