WINAIR adds more flights to Saba & Statia
Saba officials announced that WINAIR has introduced a second direct route to the island.
This, according to Saba’s Public Entity, is a result of Care and Young Caribbean Netherlands’ (ZJCN) choice to employ WINAIR’s current medical referral service.
The new flights between St. Maarten and Saba will begin on March 8 and operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The new flight to Saba will depart St. Maarten at 9:20 a.m. and depart Saba at 9:50 a.m.
Tourism Commissioner Bruce Zagers indicated that Saba has long advocated for WINAIR to be the principal carrier for medical referrals and that charter services should be utilized as a complement to guarantee that there are adequate options for connectivity when referrals are being scheduled.
“Using WINAIR’s present timetable without adding more airlift has a significant impact on our already constrained seat capacity. “We are quite glad that WINAIR saw the need for more capacity on these days and opted to add the additional flight,” added Zagers.
With this new trip, Saba’s seat capacity will increase by about 96 seats.
There will also be extra flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to St. Eustatius.
