Kingstown, Oct 8, 2016 –
The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting incident at Glen, which occurred at 6:45pm on Friday, October 7th, 2016.
The attack resulted in the death of Ozari Lee, 10-months-old; and injuries to Mozart Lee, 37; Chelly Ann Durham, 27; and Rodney Humphrey a young man in his twenties.
Preliminary reports state that the group was at Mozart Lee’s shop when they were attacked by an unknown assailant(s). As the sound of bullets rang out, the group took cover, but not before Lee was shot in the upper chest and his girlfriend, Chelly Ann Durham, received gunshot wounds to both arms.
Their baby, Ozari, received gunshot wounds to both the left and right side of his chest. The 10-Month old succumbed to his injuries at 7:50pm at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital. Rodney Humphrey escaped with a bruise to the palm of his left hand.
As is procedural, a post mortem examination will be carried out on the body of Ozari Lee.
The murder count for this year now stands at 22.
