The motor vessel Freewinds, a prominent passenger ship operating in the Caribbean, has officially reached a historic maritime milestone by completing 500,000 safe sea miles without an incident. The landmark achievement was logged during its latest voyage from Oranjestad, Aruba, to Cartagena, Colombia.
The half-million-mile mark represents decades of continuous, safe operations and adherence to international maritime safety standards.
“Achieving 500,000 safe sea miles is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our crew, engineers, and officers,” said the Captain of the Freewinds. “Passenger safety and environmental stewardship have always been our highest priorities. The Freewinds has sailed throughout the Caribbean region for over three decades, serving as a religious retreat for the Church of Scientology as well as humanitarian work and cultural events in her ports of call. Over its long career, the vessel has received numerous accolades from regional port authorities for its high maintenance standards and contributions to local communities through volunteer programs.
Following her stay in Colombia, the Freewinds is scheduled to continue its regular itinerary across the Caribbean, maintaining its rigorous safety protocols as it begins its next half-million miles.
