The Cuban ambassador Carlos Ernesto Rodríguez Etcheverry presented Credentials to Her Excellency Mrs. Susan Dougan, the Governor-General of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines at a formal sitting, accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba.
At the meeting, the ambassador highlighted the good state of bilateral relations between both nations and thanked the historic position of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States government on the island.
The Cuban diplomat expressed his willingness to work to promote economic, commercial and cooperation relations in areas of common interest.
The Governor-General highlighted the good state of relations between the two peoples, as well as the common elements that both countries have, which offer possibilities to expand bilateral ties, particularly in the fields of health, construction and education.
During the day, the Cuban ambassador also held meetings with Prime Minister, Ralph Gonsalves and with the Foreign Minister Keisal Peters, to whom he handed the copies of the credentials.
