Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves speaking at his first press conference for 2019 said the focus of his government now into its fourth term has been that of Education, Job creation, Transparency and Good Governance, among many others.
Gonsalves says one of the major projects for 2019 would be the new port in capital city Kingstown.
He said the new facility would cost US $145 Million dollars, monies he said would come from CDB and the British Government.
Gonsalves noted that there would be three ports in the new facility, they include a modern container port, inter-island Ferry Berth along with an Intra Island Ferry Berth.
He said the Interisland Ferry Berth would be used for regional connections.
Gonsalves noted that there is still extensive engineering consultancy to be done, however, he is hopeful physical work would begin this year.
He stated that persons who live in the Rose Place area would be taken care of, as is the case with any major project.
