NIS develops alternate pension payment procedures after technical issue

Technical Challenge Impacts NIS Pension Payments – Alternative Procedures Developed

The National Insurance Services (NIS) sincerely apologises to its valued pensioners who experienced a five-hour delay in their payments scheduled for Friday, April 21, 2023.

The delay emerged from a technical challenge with the NIS’ management system. This led to pensioners not being able to receive their pensions on the morning of April 21, 2023.

The NIS team worked assiduously to resolve the issue. Consequently, pension payments were made available from 1 p.m. April 21, 2023.

To ensure our usual timeliness of payment, the NIS has developed alternative procedures for the processing of benefits. Therefore, the following benefit payments will be made early:

Payments for short-term benefits will be made available on Thursday April 27, 2023.

Payments for pensioners will be made available on Thursday May 4, 2023.

The NIS thanks its valued stakeholders for their patience and understanding during this time and regrets any inconvenience caused.
