The National Insurance Services (NIS) on Tuesday September 3rd, launched a new way in which customers can communicate with them via the messaging platform, WhatsApp.
Executive Director of the National Insurance Service, Mr. Stewart Haynes said the institution recognizes that there is a gap relating to communication with customers especially in the informal sector. Haynes said having an account with WhatsApp is one way in which the NIS plans to enhance customer engagement and sensitize them about the NIS.
Haynes said his institution stands firms in its mandate in achieving universal social security coverage to employees. He urged persons to make the relevant checks to see if their contributions are being paid into the NIS.
Persons can contact the NIS via WhatsApp on 1784-456-1514 during business hours which are Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:15pm.
In the coming months, customers will also be able to download the MyNIS app which enables them to check their contribution status and make timely inquiries. The NIS also has accounts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, persons can search “nissvg” to find them.
