Former Leader of the NDP the Hon. Arnhim Eustace has said we must be very careful that we do not trigger increased inflation here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Eustace said that can occur by the measures which are being adopted by the government of SVG.

Making his contribution to the 2017 Budget Debate in Parliament,  Eustace said the Prime Minister in his address gave a glowing picture of the National Insurance Services (NIS), however the NIS is owed 112 million dollars by the government of SVG.

He noted that the NIS borrows one million dollars less from Bank of SVG, the main bank here, which means that loans from the NIS to the government are greater than loans to the government from the Bank.

Eustace further stated that he is very concerned about these loans.
