The North Windward Carnival Development Committee will be having its annual Carnival festivities during the period May 17, 2019 – July 13, 2019. The activities will be held under the theme “Uniting the Windward area through Culture”. Windward Carnival 2019 will include five (5) major events; climaxing on July 13th 2019.
The following events are scheduled to take place as part of Windward Carnival 2019:
Friday May 17, 2019 – Official Carnival Launch – Buggy`s Square, Georgetown
Friday June 7, 2019 – Miss Windward 2019 Pageant and Pan-Kai-Mas – Chili Playing Field, Georgetown Saturday June 8, 2019 – Jouvert, Street Party and Soca Monarch – Streets of Georgetown & Chili Hardcourt
Sunday June 9, 2019 – Wet Fete – Chappy`s Riverside – Sandy Bay
Saturday July 13, 2019 – Fashion Marketplace – Chili playing field, Georgetown
The first item on the agenda for the North Windward Carnival Development Committee is the Official Launch of its carnival activities. This activity will take place at Buggy`s Square in Georgetown beginning at 7:00pm on Friday May 17, 2019.
Patrons can expect a packed programme with the launch of the Windward Calypso tent and performances from
Fireman, Bomani, Rodney Small, Dymze & Pixel, Recka, Keido, Casper G, Mason, Madzart, Dat C, Chewalee, Jace, Riverside & Benny G, Payne, Young Tal, Dolly Jackson, Jah Brimstone, Verjal, Sick O, Small Circle, Twixx, Prince Swade, Fernando, Krypted, Magical and many more.
In addition, the six (6) contestants vying for the coveted title of Miss Windward 2019 will also be making their first public appearance. The North Windward Carnival Development Committee was awarded “Best Organized Rural Carnival” in 2018 by the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC).
