Conrad Sayers who once served as the Member of Parliament for Central Kingstown, will be given an official funeral.
After battling an illness for some time, Sayers passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023.
The official funeral will take place at the Kingstown Baptist Church on Monday, January 29, as stated in a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Sayers served not just as a politician but also as a religious leader, an agriculturist, and a former President of the Public Service Union. He was accomplished in all of these areas.
Both in 2001 and 2005, he served as Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and also in the office of the Prime Minister. He was elected on a Unity Labour Party ticket in 2001, and he was elected again in 2005.
In 2010, he resigned from his position in public office.
