One Recorded Case Of Dengue Fever In SVG

This country’s Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment says there has been One (1) recorded case of Dengue Fever here.

In a release issued to the public, the ministry says it is currently monitoring the vector activity and that vector control measures remain in effect.

The Ministry further says that although there has been no confirmed case of the Influenza an H1N1 Virus, within the last six weeks, there has been an increase in the number of persons reporting symptoms suggestive of viral gastroenteritis, which is inflammation of the stomach and intestine caused by infection with a virus.

Visitors and residents alike are reminded to protect themselves from mosquito bites and avoid creating conditions for mosquito breeding.

The Ministry says, although the flu vaccine is not available within the public health care sector, it is available in the private sector.
