PRESS RELEASE
On Tuesday 26th June, 2018, hundreds of our nation’s youth graduated from the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College.
I congratulate the students who have worked very hard to achieve this important milestone in their young lives.
This was truly a proud moment for the students, teachers and parents and speaks to the tremendous potential that we have in this country to achieve the Vincentian dream.
As I reflect on the graduation ceremony and on our young people, I am mindful of the youth unemployment crisis that we face in our country.
As a result of this, many of our young people may feel apprehensive about their prospects for the future.
Though the road ahead may be a rough one, I want to assure them that the New Democratic Party is focused on implementing policies that will grow our economy, reduce the tax burden, incentivize small business growth and youth entrepreneurship and revitalize the agriculture, fishing and tourism industries. Also, we will pave the way for greater opportunities for our youth through IT business development.
We know how important job creation is for our youth, it is our top priority.
Our focus is to ensure that we create an environment where the youth of St. Vincent and the Grenadines can thrive and live the Vincentian dream of peace and prosperity.
We are committed to building a future for this country where our young people have opportunities for a better way of life.
I encourage you, our new graduates, to share your ideas and partner with the New Democratic Party in shaping and reimagining development in this 21st century in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
