News784 was informed that 137 farmworkers from St Vincent and the Grenadines left for Canada on the morning of Tuesday 11th May 2020.
The workers, along with others from around the Eastern Caribbean will be employed on food producing farms as well as in the medicinal cannabis industry.
Agriculture Minister Saboto Caesar said workers now have insurance that will come into play if they are affected by Covid-19, and on arrival in Canada they will be quarantined for 14 days. During this quarantine period the workers will be paid.
The workers all 137 left on Sunwing flight 9851 for Pearson Airport in Toronto, Canada.
