The community of Roseau, Sion Hill, came alive on Sunday, March 19th, 2017, as the Pan Against Crime (PAC) Committee staged a concert in celebration of its 9th year since its formation.
Among those Making performances at the concert were the Police Band, the Police Youth Clubs, and a number of Primary Schools.
The feature address was delivered by Luke Browne, Minister of Health. Other remarks came from LaTeisha Sandy Chairman of the National Commission on Crime and Prevention; and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Colin John.
Sunday’s concert was the second in a series of activities to mark the 9th anniversary of the crime intervention programme, which seeks to reduce criminal behaviour among young people by helping many turn toward a life of music by learning how to play the steel pan. The first concert was held recently in the community of Victoria Village.
The Pan Against Crime Programme, a brainchild of Prime Minister Dr.Ralph Gonsalves, was implemented in several schools and community organisations across the country on February 20th, 2008.
