Penumbral Lunar Eclipse to be Visible in SVG on March 25

1 Min Read

The March 25, 2024  Penumbral Lunar Eclipse will be visible in St. Vincent (SVG) beginning at midnight.

The event begins on Monday, March 25, at 12:53 a.m., peaks at 3:12 a.m., and concludes at 5:32 a.m.

The overall duration of the event is 4 hours and 39 minutes. The next solar occurrence visible across SVG will be around September 17-18, 2024.

A total penumbral lunar eclipse is one in which the moon is entirely buried in the earth’s penumbral cone but does not touch the umbra.

The umbra, penumbra, and antumbra are three separate sections of a shadow caused by any light source impinging on an opaque object. If there is no diffraction, a collimated beam of light produces merely the umbra.
