Sylvannus Allen a 38-year-old labourer from the community of Peruvian Vale has been arrested and charged by the police for the offence of unlawful and malicious wounding upon his father, 63-year-old Sydney Allen of the same address on November 26th, 2017.
Reports are that on the date in question the younger Allen armed himself with a cutlass with a cutlass during a fracas with his father and inflicted a severe cutlass wound to the left side of the chest of his father resulting in him being hospitalized for several months.
Sylvannus Allen was escorted to the Serious Offences Court before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Brown on Tuesday, June 19th, facing the charge which was laid indictable to which he was not allowed to enter a plea.
Senior Prosecutor Adolphus Delpesche did not object to his bail which was allowed in the sum of $2,500.00 with one surety.
Allen is expected to return to Court on July 18th, 2018 when the Preliminary Inquiry is expected to commence.
