Prime Minister Hon. Dr Godwin Friday has left the state to attend the Fifty-First Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), to be held in Gros Islet, Saint Lucia, from July 5 to 8, 2026.
The meeting brings together Heads of Government from across the Caribbean Community to discuss key regional issues and priorities. The Conference is being held under the Chairmanship of the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Hon. Philip J. Pierre.
Prime Minister Friday is accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Foreign Investments and Diaspora Affairs, Hon. Dwight Fitzgerald Bramble; Ambassador to CARICOM, Allan Alexander; Senior Adviser to the Prime Minister, Randy Cato; Press Secretary, Danielle Veira; and Protection Officer, Corporal Desrick Quashie.
During the Conference, Prime Minister Friday will participate in the Opening Ceremony and business sessions, the Heads of Government Caucus and Retreat, and other engagements on the margins of the meeting.
In the absence of Prime Minister Friday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, Disaster Management and Immigration, Hon. Major St. Clair Leacock, will act as Prime Minister.
