Following a two-day meeting of the CARICOM Heads of Government in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, at the invitation of the President of Suriname, His Excellency Dési Bouterse, Prime Minister Dr the Hon. Ralph E. Gonsalves, accompanied by Hon. Senator Carlos James made a State visit to Suriname.
PM Gonsalves engaged the President on several important matters of mutual interest.
During the official visit, the Vincentian delegation toured several indigenous villages including the Maroon Village of Klaaskreek in the district Brokopondo and Redi Doti.
The delegation is expected to return to the State on Saturday.
