Alternative means of transportation, particularly for essential workers, are being sought after by the Ministry of Transport and Works.

Drivers of omnibuses in SVG will withdraw public transport service on Wednesday 8th April, sighting protection for themselves and commuters, this as the island report its 8 case of COVID-19.

Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, while speaking on the radio said he had discussions with the Ministry of Transport, to provide transportation for the workers.

Gonsalves also mentioned that he is willing to use his own transport for frontline workers who are on shifts.

” I don’t want any nurses, doctors or frontline workers to be left stranded”, Gonsalves said.
