Residents and drivers across St. Vincent and the Grenadines are urged to exercise extreme caution as an unstable weather system unleashes heavy showers, thunderstorms, and escalating landslide threats across the nation.

The official alert, issued at 6:00 pm on Monday, November 2, 2026, by the Government’s Meteorological Office at Argyle International Airport (SVGMETS), warns of worsening conditions stretching through Tuesday morning, November 3.

With unstable conditions crossing the islands, the forecast calls for cloudy, breezy weather marked by slight haze and intense pockets of moderate-to-heavy downpours accompanied by thunderstorms.

The Meteorological Office issued a direct advisory warning:

“Residents and motorists in areas prone to flash-flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should exercise extreme caution.”

The ground is already saturated: over the past 24 hours, rainfall totals reached 24.2 mm, elevating the risk for rapid runoff, localized flooding, and hillside destabilization.
