- Positive Vibes! The Hub Collective
This Saturday, February 24th, The Hub Collective (“The Hub”) will host its 6th Annual Positive Vibes Festival with live performances by an all star cast from Bequia and St. Vincent at De Reef in Lower Bay, Bequia.
The Positive Vibes Festival celebrates the best of culture and talent across St. Vincent and the Grenadines, bringing together local legends, emerging musicians and first-time performers, including singers, dancers and drummers. The annual festival started in 2016 and is the first of its kind to coach, nurture and present raw Vincentian talent. This year’s theme ‘Gratitude’ is a reflection on being thankful as a community after years of hardship.
The 2024 festival acts include Colin “Minkah” Peters (Creative Director of The Hub and ‘Ah Like It (Whole of Me on Fire)’ singer), Abu Zanimah (of The Legendary Fountain of Youths), J Gool (Three Time Calypso King), Dynamite (‘BRAVE’ artiste), the Rose Hall Drummers, Exotic Sounds Steel Orchestra and more.
Doors open on Saturday at 6PM for food and drinks. The show kicks off at 7:30PM and will continue into the night with DJ Adiktid closing the event. Limited advance tickets can be purchased for $25 EC at The Hub’s Creative Arts Centre in Port Elizabeth, Bequia. Tickets will be sold at the gate for $30 EC, as well as t-shirts for $60 EC. As a fundraising effort, The Hub appreciates any and all donations throughout the evening to help fund their ongoing nonprofit organisation.
Their organisers and volunteers thank this year’s sponsors: Grenadines Initiative, Action Bequia, Soho Beach House Canouan, ECGC and long-time supporter Charlotte Robertson for each of their contributions to the event.
The Hub Collective is a nonprofit organisation with a passion to build creative confidence and intergenerational exchange in Bequia.
