As part of a broader digital trade rollout for St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ agricultural sector, technology firm Quantum Inc. has announced a promotional initiative known as the “St. Vincent Box”.
Unveiled by Quantum Inc. Chief Executive Officer Jacques Nack during a joint press conference with government officials, the initiative is designed to introduce Vincentian agricultural products directly to prospective international buyers and distributors.
The St. Vincent Box will feature a curated assortment of fresh local produce alongside semi-processed agricultural goods sourced directly from Vincentian growers.
Under the go-to-market plan outlined by Nack, these sample packages will be distributed across Quantum’s global database of buyers and industry partners. The primary objective is product discovery: allowing overseas distributors to sample the quality of Vincentian commodities firsthand before placing bulk orders.
Once buyers sample the contents, the platform will route their commercial interest back to the source, directing buyers to individual farmers’ digital storefronts within the Quantum platform.
The St. Vincent Box serves as a key marketing vehicle for Quantum’s digital infrastructure, which connects local farmers directly with international purchasing channels.
Rather than relying solely on raw commodity shipments, the platform supports both unprocessed harvests—such as dasheen and hot peppers—and value-added, semi-processed products. By directing buyers to specific digital storefronts, the initiative enables individual growers and agricultural cohorts to market their specialized products to a wider global audience.
Nack emphasized that Quantum’s commercial architecture does not charge brokerage fees, ensuring that a larger percentage of export revenue remains in the hands of local farmers
The introduction of the St. Vincent Box aligns with what Nack termed a “hiker’s mindset”—a business philosophy centered on steady, incremental growth rather than overwhelming local agriculture with immediate, unsustainable demands.
By establishing initial product awareness through targeted sample distribution, Quantum aims to build a foundation for long-term export contracts, protecting local producers from market volatility while steadily building capacity for future processing and expansion.
