Questelles Govt School Fire Recovery, Reopening Plan
The Ministry of Education has formed a task force to manage the relocation of students and staff and the rebuilding of the Questelles Government School, which was damaged by a fire on December 29, 2025.
While the school was established in 1911 and is one of the oldest in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, it suffered significant loss of physical resources, including the auditorium, kitchen, and learning spaces for Grades 3 and 4.
To ensure education continues, Grades K-4 will return to the school compound on January 5, 2026, while Grades 5 and 6 will resume classes on January 12 at the Campden Park Community Centre to allow for the facility’s preparation.
Restoration work has already begun on areas with minor damage, including the full restoration of electricity.
