A pilot project being co-ordinated by the Ministry of Social Development, in collaboration with the Prison Service, aimed at rehabilitating inmates at Her Majesty’s Prisons in Kingstown and the Belle Isle Correctional Facility, commenced on Monday.
An official at the Ministry of Social Development, Anton Caesar, said about 25 Inmates will be involved in the programme.
Mr Caesar said the plan is intended to help prepare the Inmates to adjust to life in the society when they complete their sentences.
The programme is being carried out over a three-year period and should help the inmates to be confident enough not to re-enter the prison.
