- St Vincent: Relief for vendors In 2024
According to Minister of Finance Camillo Gonsalves, an announcement of a package of relief and waivers for Vendors in Kingstown would be made on March 1, 2024.
According to Gonsalves, many merchants and other enterprises in Kingstown already pay a nominal rent to the Kingstown Town Board (KTB), which aids in the city’s order and cleanliness.
“Last year, the Town Board successfully launched a ‘Kingstown Clean-up’ campaign, which nationalised vending activity to the benefit of both buyers and sellers.”
Gonsalves stated that during the project’s preliminary stages, a review of the arrears owing by vendors to the KTB was conducted, and as a result, Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves directed officials to do a complete examination of the amount owed.
According to the finance minister, this Review was nearly completed, and a statement explaining some relief for vendors will be made in March.
