LABOURER CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE OFFENCES
On September 3, 2026, police arrested and charged Quincy Boyde, a 30-year-old Labourer of Rillan Hill/Pole Yard, with the offences of theft, illegal possession of a firearm, and illegal possession of ammunition.
According to investigations, the accused allegedly entered the dwelling house of a 73-year-old Retired Army Veteran of Arnos Vale/USA as a trespasser and stole a quantity of items.
The stolen property included twenty-five (25) bottles of cologne valued at US$2,000.00, alcoholic beverages valued at US$1,000.00, a blue travel bag valued at US$15.00, a U.S. Army retired hat valued at US$15.00, an Autogen portable jump starter kit valued at US$140.00, an Optima battery charger valued at US$200.00Dove and Dial soaps valued at US$75.00, a Wonderboom portable Bluetooth speaker valued at US$60.00, an iTouch watch valued at US$100.00, a portable earbud valued at US$10.00, a pack of Vanwin toenail clippers valued at US$16.00, and a Tiger King heavy-duty safe box valued at US$600.00.
The safe box contained one (1) black Glock 19 pistol valued at US$550.00, thirteen (13) rounds of 9mm ammunition valued at $13.00 ECC, one (1) Samsung Galaxy A71 cellular phone valued at US$400.00, with the items having a combined value of US$5,194.00. The safe also contained US$800.00 in cash, $1,500.00 ECC in cash, two (2) spare motor vehicle keys of unknown value, and property deeds of unknown value.
Furthermore, on October 13, 2025, he was charged with having in his possession one (1) Glock 19 Pistol without a licence issued under the Firearms Act.
Lastly, he was charged with having in his possession one (1) round of 9mm ammunition without a license issued under the Firearms Act.
The offences were committed in Arnos Vale between September 28, 2025, and October 11,2025. Boyde appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate Court on September 4, 2026, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was granted bail in the sum of $10,000.00 ECC with one surety. As part of his bail conditions, Boyde was ordered to report to the Central Police Station every Monday and Thursday between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. He was also ordered to surrender all travel documents, and stop notices were placed at all ports of entry and exit. The matter was adjourned and transferred to the Serious Offences Court for September 22, 2026.
